  2022 INTRODUCTIONS OF CURT TURNER

.
Sprinkles (Turner, C. '22) Dip, Dor, Fragrant, 39", 4.5", Early Mid-Season.  WOW - a non-goal-focused genetic step forward resulting from my thirty years of diploid cross-breeding.  Sprinkles is not believed to be  directly related to any other non-Turner diploid having stippling attributes, nor are its genetics believed to lie in the background of any of the broken-pattern, "new-wave", tetraploids now burgeoning upon the daylily scene. Sprinkles is a light, mauve-pink blend of stipples, dots and streaks with white edging and midribs, and a gold into green throat.  While consistent in overall appearance, each blossom is modestly variable in detail, providing heightened anticipation for my early morning breeding-bed walk. Setting pods easily, and fertile both ways, Sprinkles is a cross of [(seedling x seedling) x  seedling] with three-way branching and eighteen buds, and is a full sibling to Toy Curios.  D16-121S  (Withheld for Increase)                                               .~~~~~

*Democracy Forever (Turner, C '22), Tet, Dor, Fragrant, 34", 6.5", Mid-late Season.  LQQK HERE CLOSELY: RED DOTS and SPOTS on Democracy Forever's base presentation of ruffled rose-maroon with a blueberry halo and an edge of blueberry and white with dark maroon veining and a gold into green throat. (Spots observed only after double cataract surgery and after registration.)  An assemblage of patriotic flamboyance and exaggerated planetary potential, Democracy Forever sports unique tetraploid genetics as a cross of [(Hidden Cameras x Seedling) X Unknown] with three-way branching and eleven buds, and is fertile both ways.  T18-62  [Very limited). [Continental U.S. shipping only] [Note re: spotting - Purple Leopard is a diploid.] [$80.00 SF]         ~~~~~

Toy Curios (Turner, C '22) Dip, Dor, Fragrant, 36", 4", Early Season.  WOW AGAIN; as a full sibling to Sprinkles, Toy Curios is not considered to be  directly related to any other non-Turner diploid having stippling attributes, nor are its genetics believed to lie in the background of any of the broken-pattern, "new-wave," tetraploids recently appearing on scene.  Against a hazed light-greyed-blueberry background, Toy Curios offers light mauve stippling and streaking with deeper mauve veining and an intense gold-green throat.  Consistent in overall appearance, each blossom is also modestly variable in detail.  With four-way branching and twenty-one buds, Toy Curios is a cross of [(seedling x seedling) x  seedling] is fertile both ways, and sets pods easily.  D16-121B  [$80.00 SF]                                    ~~~~~

*Mamba Mirage (Turner, C '22) Tet, Dor, Fragrant, Mid-season.  Mysteriously fascinating and occurring about one-quarter of the time, this is the most finished of the several faces of Mamba Mirage which includes an occasional brown polymerous form.  Featuring a variably colored eye ranging from deep maroon to purple to brown to black often with near-edge stippling in similar coloration against a greyed-lavender background and a throat that transitions from stippled magenta to apple green, Mamba Mirage's next bloom is always keenly anticipated.  Its well-spaced-out opening of nine buds on two-way branching effectively extends over the duration of mid-summer. Scape height is 38 inches; bloom size is 5 inches. Fertile both ways, Mamba Mirage is a cross of Rowley Royale X Seedling and is a pot pourri of hybridizing potential.  T15-104  [$40.00 DF]                      ~~~~~~

*Mill River Cherry Summer (Turner, C '22) Tet, Dor, 46', 7", Mid-late Season. A commanding tall and large flowered rose-pink and cherry-eyed garden presence, Mill River Cherry Summer is a cross of Mount Ararat X Master and Bold Ruler featuring an open-form, a green throat, easy two-way fertility with three-way branching and fifteen buds. One of my favorites! T17- 38  [$100.00 SF]                                             ~~~~~~

*Mill River Blues (Turner, C '22) Tet, Dor, 38", 6", Mid-late Season.  A striking blueberry-banded magenta with ruffling highlighted by echoes of blueberry, dark red veining, and a contrasting green throat.  Mill River Blues brings forward the hypnotic, melodic melancholy of the speakeasy jazz scene into the arresting and mesmerizing uncertainty attendant this century's planetary future.  Displaying three-way branching and 14 buds, Mill River Blues is a cross of [Hidden Cameras X Unknown] fertile both ways, & is lightly fragrant. T18-32 [$90.00 SF]                                                                       ~~~~~~

*Roulette (Turner, C '22) Tet, Dor, 32", 7",  Fragrant, Early Season.  Casino-colored, large-bloom flamboyance is flaunted here, pinwheeling deep maroons and softer reds with a light-mauve lavender halo, black edge shadings, a chartreuse-green throat, and white-to-light-mauve midribs.  Arrestingly eye-catching amidst early-season yellows, Roulette is a cross of (Unknown X Seedling) and displays eleven well-spaced buds on two-way branching and is a difficult pod parent.  T17-82    [$70.00 SF]          ~~~~~~

Marilyn Taylor (Turner, C '22) Dip, Dor, 42", 3.25", Late Season.  Proudly named for my talented and loving sister, Marilyn Taylor is a lavender-raspberry self with white midribs, light blueberry-hued buds, and a green throat.  A cross of [America's First Peoples X (Blueberry Breakfast x Seedling) x Seedling], Marilyn Taylor is a prolific pod-setter with 29 buds carried on four-way branching & is also pollen fertile.  D14-127B   [Withheld for Increase in 2024]   ~~~~~
