ADADFARM'S 2009 SPRING INTRODUCTIONS

ROWLEY ROYALE [Curt Turner -- 2009]
T04-24 [[(Rev. Joseph Barth seedling x Ed Murray) x (Midnight Magic x Unk)] X Unk ]]
37 inches; 5.5 inches; first blooms at Adadfarm about July 9th; Dor; Tet.
Three way branching with 18 buds held well-above medium green foliage. My best green-throated near-black with decent bud-count in eighteen years of cross-breeding dormant near-blacks from many hybridizers such that my UNKs typically are seedlings from several generations of such crosses. ROWLEY ROYALE is a lightly ruffled red/purple self (RHS # 59A) with a lighter plum midrib and a greyed-purple band (RHS # 187A) that color transitions down the throat to maroon-red, gold and a lovely green core. Difficult pod parent. [Limited; $100 plus shipping, single fan]
ADADFARM'S 2008 SUMMER INTRODUCTIONS

ONE IF BY LAND (Curt Turner---2008)
Seedling D97-216 [(Goldura x Marble Faun) X Unknown]
49 inches; 4.5 inches; First blooms at Adadfarm about June 29th; Dormant; Diploid;
Well-spaced, four-way branching with 21 buds held well-above medium-green foliage.
A new color addition to tall, northern-hardy, early, diploid lines. In the morning, it's warm amber-orange colors are a beacon, bidding us hasten to the garden to see the day's treats, whilst cautioning us not to tarry too long lest we miss breakfast. Golden midribs and throat conclude in a deep smidgeon of green. In the waning hours of daylight, its ambient glow beckons and compels us to the warmth of the family hearth and recalls the hardships of early-American colonists and their struggles for freedom. $50.00 per double fan plus shipping and handling.

TOYS IN THE ATTIC (Curt Turner --- 2008)
Sdlg. D98-176 [(Toy Trumpets x Unknown) X Unknown];
41 inches; Early; Dormant; Diploid; 3 1/4 inches;
Four-way, well-spaced branching; 18 buds;
Upturned look-you-in-the-eye presentation.
Perky light-yellow self; including narrow, canoe-shaped, clean-edged petals (3/4") and sepals (1/2"), stamens, midribs, veining and throat concluding with a deep-down smidgeon of green. Blooms held well above medium-green, complementary foliage -- continuing the tall, Turner, "Toy Trumpets," tradition of breeding incorporating Bob Sobek's seminal Hemerocallis introduction. $ 50.00 per double fan, plus shipping and handling. (Please see shipping info below).
ADADFARM’S 2008 SPRING INTRODUCTIONS

DAFFY TAFFY [Turner 2008]
3”, 40”, dormant, M, diploid. It is hard to pass by a clump of this tall cultivar without one’s gaze returning frequently to its soft, circular melding of beige, rouge, yellow and green colors. Daffy Taffy’s unusual combination of height and colors provides a smooth transition from the daylily garden’s brighter combinations of eyes and edges to more soothing self-colored cultivars and companion plantings. While an intentional outdoor-grown cross, its parents are unknown due to a lost label. Daffy Taffy originated in northeastern Massachusetts from November-planted seed, is cold-hardy, and is fertile both ways, being especially prolific in setting pods. [$30 per double fan, plus shipping and handling.]

5 ”, 39”, dormant, M, diploid. As startling to the gaze upon its presentation in the garden as the first flash of pyrotechnics against a moonless night-sky on the Fourth of July, Flying Fireworks commands its surrounds as a maroon-red self punctuated by electric yellow spears exploding from a green throat and accented with a deeper maroon band, maroon veining and rose midribs. A cross of [(Frivolous Frills x Orchard Corsage) X Unknown], Flying Fireworks originated outdoors in northeastern Massachusetts from November-planted seed. It is cold-hardy and fertile both ways, setting pods with ease. [$50 per single fan, plus shipping and handling.] Ltd.

SHORT RIBS [Turner 2008] 6”, 36”, dormant, M, tetraploid. A lovely peach/rose/lavender blend with a crinkle-soft beige/yellow edge. It’s deeper lavender midrib uniquely truncates at a rose pencil-outline encompassing a washed-peach halo which blends into a gold upper-throat and a green lower-throat. This outdoor-grown cross of Ethel Sheperd by Low Key originated in northeastern Massachusetts from November-planted seed. Short Ribs is cold-hardy and fertile both ways. [$50 per double fan, plus shipping and handling.] Ltd
